Terms & Conditions for Event Catering

*Minimum 20 portions per order, per item.

*All buffet orders include hot box drop off, disposable platters, sweet tea and lemonade.  Disposable utensils, plates and cups are available for an additional $1.50 per person.  Wire stand and sterno setup for drop off events are an additional $25 per hot item and subject to product availability; real chaffer setups are included in all full service events. Tables, linens and ice are not included and are the responsibility of the customer.

*A 26% event fee is added to all orders and covers basic administrative costs, menu and event consultation, our event coordinator's commissions, the non alcoholic beverage station of sweet tea and lemonade, cake cutting (if needed), packaging costs, delivery and setup.  A discount of 25% of the event fee will be applied for hot box drop offs that do not require setup.  It does not include full service labor, gratuity or meal taxes.

Service fees and meal taxes are applied to the subtotal of the invoice.

 

*Labor costs are $275 for the first attendant (Event Leader) and $225 per additional attendant for four hours of event time, you are not charged for standard setup and breakdown time. One attendant per 50 guest is required. Signature services such as butlered appetizers, signature displays and Chef action stations will require one additional attendant per 50 guests. 

Labor costs do not include gratuity.  Gratuity is always appreciated for great service..

 

*Delivery up to 25 miles from Town Center, Virginia Beach is included.  

A charge of $4 per mile for drop off events is applied for deliveries over 25 miles. 

Full service events will be charged an additional $4 per attendant traveling, per mile.

*Consumer Advisory - Consuming raw or undercooked meat, eggs, poultry or seafood increases your risk of contracting a foodborne illness - especially if you have certain medical conditions.

All contracts are entered into with Mermaid Catering, LLC and all money paid is non-refundable.  In a State of Emergency or extreme weather both parties have the right to reschedule without fees, penalties or refunds; All credits are good for two years from originally schedule date and the decision must be made within 72 hours of the event or funds are forfeited. All menus are the sole property of Mermaid Catering, LLC and discussions are for the purpose of hiring Mermaid Catering, LLC only.  Payment of a deposit implies agreement to these terms.
